My three retro Stumpys

Dirt Disciple
Hey guys, first post in this forum and from the US. Thought I'd finally share my bikes after lurking for a few months!

I have a '89 (pink/aqua) made in Taiwan of cromo, a '96 M2 Comp and the metallic green one is a '92 or '93 made in Japan of Tange Prestige steel and the original components were Shimano LX Rapidfire 3x9 with matching canti brakes. If anyone knows what year it is id love some help! Even Specialized customer support couldn't give me an exact year.

I rebuilt the '96 this spring with a full Shimano XT 1x10 drivetrain, Shimano XT V-Brakes, HED Belgium wheelset, Thomson Elite seatpost, Cane Creek S8 headset, Ritchey stem and bars, 2008 Rock Shox Sid Race fork and a vintage Body Geometry saddle

The '89 is stripped and I have on the way a full 1x10 Shimano SLX drivetrain, XT V-Brakes, Mavic X221 wheelset with Deore rear and WTB Grease Guard front hub, Ritchey seatpost stem and bars on the way as well

The '92/'93 will probably become my road/gravel bike with a 2x9 drivetrain. I just bought an older set of Hed Jet wheels for it but as far as drivetrain I'm not sure which route to go yet.

Thanks for looking!

Never mind, I guess my photos won't upload..

Maybe now

Now that I got the photos properly resized, these are the Mavic wheels came off a 2003 Specialized Epic shortly after the guy bought the bike so they're basically new unused and the light red spoke nipples match well on the 89 Stumpjumper.

The Hed Jet wheels had blue carbon fiber covers (or whatever they're called) on when I bought them but they were ugly as sin and didn't match the green bike so I'm in the process of removing the carbon and the glue. The glue is like rubber and is a giant pain to remove! These wheels are super smooth, should be a nice ride when it's finishe .
