Removing Paint Without Damaging Anodizing

I have some LX mechanisms which have been badly painted and look awful. I want to remove the paint without damaging the anodizing. What should I use please?

My apologies if this has been asked before but I couldn't find the answer.

Try something gentle first like white spirit, paraffin or petrol.

It may take a fair bit of rubbing with a cloth but shoukd come off. Ive used white spirit on many bike oarts, for degreasing and its never damaged any anodised components.

If impatient, try a paint stripper eg nitromors, it is not as pitent as it used to be but test a snall aee first, be careful whrn using ad it will burn skin if slpashed.

Re:

Leave them in some paint stripper, (a cheap one from wilkos will do) and then blast the paint off with water. It wont damage the anodising.

And nitromors isnt half as strong as it used to be, they changed the formula about 8 years ago and it no longer burns when in contact with the skin. Its not as good as stripping paint as it was either

Re:

The original formula was changed by the EU environmental fanatics, now perhaps the stronger version will return!!
