'Modern' Retro Tyres

P20

Retrobike Rider
I've never ridden Onza Porcupine tyres. Are/Were they any good? I know that you can buy 'new' Porc2's for £12.95 a pair of ebay, just curious.

Also i really like the Ritchey Z-max as a rear all year round tyre, regardless of the bike. Are they any good on the front? My thoughts are they won't be too clever. :?

I always liked Smoke and Darts, they are still available today.
Z-Maxs are good but more for beginners, I have featherlight versions of these Z-mins.

I never loved porcs. they were awesome grip on the back, so-so on the front. just that they dragged so much & wore out pretty quick.

I used darts (including 2.2s) for ages, pretty good tyre until 98 where I tried spesky team controls, woaah, propper grip. used a 2.2 adrenaline (massive!) spesky tyre today & what an awesome tyre that is :)

First Flight Bikes has done a run of classic Panaracer Timbuk2 tires with the gum sidewall, perfect for that retro ride and reasonably priced. Check it out...
