So I thought I'd throw a set of e types on the Zaskar but I'm buttered if I can seat the rings, the arm seems too close to fit a ring behind it!
Anyone help ?

Going to sound obvious but have you got the spider on the right way round? the heavily recessed side takes the outer ring, ie not like this:

As above, turn it over, it's a bit of a donfusing design.
Also the largest leg on the spider goes behind the crank.

largest as in widest, which fits the profile of the crank arm it's tucked behind. ;)

I had been at work for 12 hours, then 2.5 hours sleep then back to work for 8 hours! :p

Remove granny bolts and spacers and pull off.

it's a snug fit, so you might need to gently pry it a little at time going around the spyder to coerce it off.
