Gt sts dh mountain bike

Haro-83

Retro Newbie
New to this site. I am bmx collectors and my friend found this at Colorado while ago and thought I might interested and offered me 200 for it and 100 to ship to texas (300 total). Of course I took it.

How do I tell which year is it 97 or 98? Seem all factory original beside missing tires and seat isn't original.
Plan to clean up and put on wall hanger or might trade her for a bmx bike???

I knows very little on this bike so educate me on this bike.

And it's still the middle of the night in Europe, you'll likely get more replies later today.
I can't help you on the year of it, but for $300 you can't go far wrong, some tyres and a saddle and that should be good to go.

Looks good, you have the hardest to find original parts on there (brakes, wheelset).

It is most likely a 1997 with those decals; the serial number is self explanatory though.

Check the rear end thoroughly for cracks, I would remove the lower shock bolt and test for straightness, rubber up and it would be good to ride. You are missing the lower guide from the chain device.

To get it close to original spec you would need an Azonic shorty stem and worldforce handlebar, WTB kevlar edged droop snoot saddle, and the original AC cranks and sprocket.

Here are all the catalogues: http://www.retrobike.co.uk/gallery2/v/M ... atalogues/

I cant make out the year exactly, but I lean towards 98.

Those frames go for 500 Euros over here. Frame alone, mind you.

Cracks are a common problem on those thermoplastic GTs. They appear around the bb, the aluminium lugs would break eventually. Many people say they'd rather not ride those. But I don't care ;)

Spare parts and bushes can still be obtained by betd. (Just google that)

Very nice find, and a bargain, too.
