Hi all
I've found that chainrings for the lower Shimano road/cyclocross range could work as very good replacements for my worn out rings on my bikes. I'm talking about FC -2450 and FC-3550.
They have:
-5 bolt 110 BCD
-made in steel (my retrobikes are heavily used, no time for lighter but butter-soft aluminium)
-they come in the usual "compact" 34T, but also the not so usual 46T for the big ring (luckily common on cyclocross bikes)
-much more affordable than the usual brands (Stronglight, T.A. Spécialités, etc.). Not keen on spending much on "wearables"...
They should work ok even though they are not for 7 speed, and will be installed in Deore LX and DX cranksets (FC-M550/M650).
So before I make my online order... has anyone something to say against them that would not recommend its purchase for its intended use?
