Hi guys,

I'm putting together a little comparison between XTR M900 and M9000 - I don't suppose anyone here has an original price list for the various M900 components?

grabbing the first thing could find oct 93 mba, bikepro (no post or pedals)and allterrain adds have xtr group at $899, dunno if that is retial or sale

supergo:
crank 199
hubset 150

Bike Pro's 1993 $899 price corrected for inflation (to 2014) is $1500. Both Bike Pro and Supergo were mail order, so you'd have to compare to a present mail order company. Chain Reaction has an 11s XTR group minus hubs/brakes for $913 and brake/rotor combo for $183 (x2) for a total of $1280. Hubs are out of stock, but Evans has them for $316, bringing the full build total to $1598. Only $98 more than M900 adjusted for inflation. The disc brakes alone more than make up for that difference.

and their current rarity(ish) and high desirability has pushed the price of these (M900) components up, in recent yrs.

Brilliant - thanks for looking that up! I knew there was a reason I should've held on to all of those MBAs! I'm pretty surprised no one's made an effort to digitise them.
