I have a late 80s Raleigh Thunder Road and I'm deciding which parts to keep and which to put into the surplus bin in the shed.
The bike comes with 21 speed Suntour Accushift gears with Suntour XCE mechs and chainset.
I don't want to use the shifters, but the rear mech looks quite cool. Can I use it with Shimano 7 speed SIS shifters (DX, XT, etc.)? Would it also work with more modern 8 speed Suntour XC pro 7/8 speed thumbshifters?
I have to decide by the end of Monday which parts to box and take back to Portugal with me.
