Don't use ceramic pads on standard rims as they'll wear down the rim surface!
I misguidedly tried this once and ditched them for the journey home :facepalm: – after refitting normal ones.
The ceramic pads sound like they are sanding and scouring down the rim as you brake :shock:

You should hear them with wet mud . That has the grinding off sound that makes you glad you bought them. A quiet chuckle that your ceramic free friends rims are grinding away.
