Is Mang-Moly more prone to rust than Cro-Moly? Why do I ask? I've had a 653 / 531 frame stored in the same box as a cromo frame for a year or so in the garage, but the 653 / 531 frame's come out with a fair amount of rust, the cromo frame has not.

I don't know, but it is chromium that is added to steel to make it stainless. :?

Manganese does greatly improve the corrosion resistance of steel but if its superior to chromo I`m not sure. It would come down to the specific percenteges in the tubing.
Were both frames doused in oil or rubbed with an oily rag before storage? If one had been ridden on salty roads before being put away it will certainly go crusty.
