Need help with frame identification.

I already searched the net, but probably missed the obvious, so if anyone knows what this Aluminum frame is from, I would be most grateful!

Distinguishing features:
Sleeved top of seat tube
Flattened upper rear triangle stays
U-brake mount under chainstays (no canti mounts at back)
Rear wheel mounts
Was wearing XT M730 groupset ('87-'91?)




Was thinking old diamondback or trek, but nothing matches...

Sorry, this is all I got at the moment, just bought it and haven't picked it up yet. Only other info is that there is no over-sized tubing...

I thought that looked familiar.

Given that it's in Australia, I wonder if it's something Japanese, Panasonic for instance, I know they did some nice steel frames in the 80s and 90s, but don't know if they did any aluminium stuff.
