Hi

Have been stripping down a Shimano Deore DX rear mech, was wondering what people use (if any) to lubricate the jockey wheel components, the metal cups/washer etc

Re:

I'm just about to do the same thing, funnily enough..

Mine are always filthy it seems so I tend to give them a good flush out with GT-85 first to dissolve the oily cack before drying off, then I just apply a tiny bit of grease on the inner bearing before reassembling - usually some of the Shimano green stuff. Don't go too gung-ho with the grease, otherwise the wheels will end up being too sticky.

Hope that helps :)

Re:

If you take them apart and degrease them, then a small blob of light grease a couple of mm across is about the right amount to apply to the centre bit. A very light smear on the underside of the rubber seals is a good idea too.
Weldtite TF2 grease is about the right consistency.
