A great find.. I think

A very clean 199?, Marin ?? (Palisades Trail, Bear Valley???)

I thought I had it pegged for a Palisades Trail, but the serial number is not correlating.

The serial is A50KA0266

I'm certain it's a marin as it's stamped correctly on the rear dropouts.

Any thoughts as to the year and model?

Anyway, after a quick cleaning and a "wee bit" of black touch up, here she is..

Very nice.

Agree with KOF - looks like a '91 Palisades in one of its euro colour schemes (the other was yellow to violet fade).

Looks like a Palisades Trail if fluoro yellow or a Team Marin if fluoro green.

Makes me pine for the days of my first proper mountain bike – a 1990 Palisades with the zolatone frame and fluoro yellow stem and forks. Wish I still had it.
 
It's a dead ringer for a 1991 PT, it's just the serial number doesn't match. But, from what I've read, it wasn't uncommon for Marin to turn a Bear Valley stamped frame into a Palisades Trail as the only difference was the paint and components.

The "A" still confuses me though..

A50KA0266

A - Location built
5 - Model (Bear Valley)
0 - Year built (perhaps a left over 1990 BV turned into a 91 PT?)
KA - build date specifics
0 - Size (can't find specifics on "0" sizing)
266 - Build Number


Any have a clue as to the "A" build location?
