Tricks for removing rust anyone ???

Got a few surface spots on a stem of mine which I want to get rid of without scratching the finish .. anyone got any top tips ..

Maybe we should have a 'workshop' forum with FAQ's etc . what d'ya reckon ??

Chrome you can treat with rubbing compound like Belgom. For painted surfaces I could think of using a converter like Fertan.

Steel wool is without doubt the best way to remove rust from chrome plated surfaces, just ensure it is quite fine and finish with a polish.

My favourite method for removing surface rust from chrome is wire wool and wd40 - the '40 stops it scratching, just take it slow and gentle.
