This little number is sat on the headtube of my '95 Pine Mountain - should it be?

In a word... NO

It doesn't look out of place though, but would have had originally a metal badge. They were prone to falling off hence your replacement methinks 8)

No again... :)
You should look for the colourful metal head badge. There's a '95 brochure on this forum in which you can see what it should look like.
Nice retrobike by the way :D

Thanks. I see you used to have one yourself.

I was about to buy a modern hybrid, but a friend put me onto this forum and I took the chance to get a bike I could only dream of as a schoolkid. Picked her up not long ago, so still just acquiring the parts to show her some love.

Be patient looking for one too. I've seen them offered for silly money.

Even if you have to buy a '95 bobcat/muirwoods and rob it, if you can grab a proper cheap one.

I've seen a bloke riding up Gloucester Road on a 95 Bobcat Trail, so I'll just follow him and nick the badge while he's in a shop.*
