Heat treated alloy?

Does anyone know if the early M2 stumpys were heat treated? I picked up a black 93 that has been repaired ( badly ) and am thinking about giving it to a frame builder to fix properly but I wouldn't bother if it's heat treated alloy du to the potential ongoing issues,

The M2 frames are based on a 6000 series alloy, with the ceramic bits added. Pre and post-weld heat treatment was required. Very very difficult material to weld without causing weakness in the adjacent metal.
