What components for a 1995 Orange E3?

Hi there,

I am in the process of doing up my old E3. I am not too fussed about using period correct parts, but obviously there are some limitations due to standards changing.

With regards to the headset, could I use a Chris King 2Nut 1" headset?

I am thinking of fitting a more modern 9 speed drivetrain - could I do this and could I use one of the newer style bottom brackets in the 68mm shell?

Hi mate.

Good choice first of all.

For me use period XT 737/8/9, it works well, easy to get hold of and not too expensive, as a base but, use whatever you like. Any 1" headset should work depending on stack height your forks require.

By all means fit hollow tech 2 stuff, yes it's compatible, used it myself. LX580 9 speed with XT750 shifters.
