I'm thinking, but not necessarily going to go through with shimming some pace forks so that I can run them on my pace rc200 f3 with a Thomson steerer.

Reading a few threads on here relating to cracked head tubes and a weakness in these frames, is this a bad idea? The stem diameter would end up being the same as the head tube, so would this a) look daft, b) be safe and c) hoe if needed would spacers work? I've not got a shim to test with so not sure how tall/long they come so just want some advice from those who may have walked this road before.

a) possibly
b) should be ok
c) either use another shim with 1.1/8" spacers (cut down if needed) or 1"spacers might be ok, depends on width. Or get some 1" wider spacers made :p
