Today I picked up a pretty original Parkpre Team 925 which I intend to refurb over time. However the frame is steel that has been TI platted but there are little rust spots all over the frame. The trouble is wire wool will remove the TI platting taking the frame back to steel & the metal polish I have is not strong enough to remove the spots.

Question is, does anyone know of a way of removing the rust spots & conserving the TI plating?

Or

Do I wire wool the whole frame back to a polish finish & go with that look for the rebuild?

Answers on a postcard please........

I reckon that'll be Nickel plate.
It could be re-plated but i don't know what the cost would be.

The one on eBay? Good purchase! Was watching that.

Don't know if it'll work in your specific circumstances - maybe try somewhere out of the way - but I've heard lots of recommendations for scrunched up kitchen foil. Google it see what you think.

I'm sure they did do a ti plated version, could be wrong but recall a build thread. Maybe within that there was some advice on restoring?

Ti Plated Finish ...

Looks like Titanium but is really Nickel plating which has a brushed lacquer on top.
