I am putting the finishing touches on my NOS 1994 Stumpjumper. Its been essentially done for a while now, but I'd like to fix a couple things.

I have new Specialized Ti Stem on the thing. Looks great. I am having trouble matching the stem's ti finish (call it satin) with a handlebar. I for a NOS Zoom and it looks ok (see pic), but it just bugs me that it doesn't match.

My Titec and litespeed bars don't match. Any ideas? Looking for something I don't need to polish or mod to look right.

Circa 95/96 Marin Bear Valley bars (the ones with the bear on) had that chromica sort of finish.. doesn't take take much to remove the embellishments if you're not keen on the branding.

I take a peak on fleabay for those. I would prefer titanium. Maybe something I can match with a new seatpost.

They did a ti version, had one myself. What seat post are you trying to match?

I'd don't have a post I'm happy with just yet so the handlebar and post could be by the same manufacturer.

is that one of those specialised ti stems that are renowned to explode when you use them?

Haha ... I hope not! This bike won't be ridden ... Hopefully it's not prone to combustion while hanging on a wall.

I've been riding with the same stem for MANY years and 220lbs. When can I expect it to explode????
