I've just replaced the elastomer stack on my old MXCD's with elastomers from Pace- looking at the old RC35 manual there should be 8 in the stack, however Pace sent me a bag of 18 (9 each side), and having fitted the 8, there is space on the stack, and as a result there is about 1/2 inch play in the forks, sag to the ground when the wheel is lifted, which doesn't seem right.
Problem is the old elastomers had disintegrated, so I couldn't tell how many were on there in the first place.
So I added the 9th elastomer to each side as sent by Pace, and it all fits nicely, (though without a cup between the bottom two elastomers as there aren't enough) and seems to work perfectly. But is this right? Can anyone see any issues?
