I got this Dorado 500 l bike in a trade. Ive researched for hours and cant find anything about it. Its a strange little bike. 16" frame with 20"wheels 5 speed gearing. The brake levers are ACS locking which were used on old school bmx the crankset is csh which is a generic japanese crank made by a manufacturer of all kinds of cranks for winches and many other. Shimano es shifter shimano skylark rear derailleur. If you know anything Id appreciate your input.

I posted it in the bmx section as well no help. Ive posted it on the MTB forum also and got no help either. It seems this little guy will remain a mystery.

bmx cruisers have 24" wheels.its definitely not one of those

i nearly had bought for me a bmx from Tensor (remember that place?) which had 5 gears, and which was classed as a bmx, which obviously it wasnt ! cant remember if had cantis though.

maybe its one of these type creations.or maybe is just a mtb for small adults

Limited research I've just done on the web says Dorado were COSTCO's in house brand from the 80's to early 90's. Some models were low end but some seem to have been equipped up to midrange Suntour Groupsets. I've seen several references to an unremarkable looking rigid mtb called the Dorado Sherpa Trail. Your bike suggests something aimed at kids/small adults but not particularly special. interesting none the less and something new I've learned. :)
