Time Atac, old or new style.

I originally chose them back in the 90's as I wanted a pedal that allowed a little float, and I have never found a reason to change.

entirely interchangable shimano SPDs. The M540s are probably the price/weight sweet spot

Not retro, but the Xpedo Traverse 8 pedals are my favourite. Really grippy and light, and good bearings without being too spinny.
