Hi, i was searching for a new city bike (as my last one got stolen).
I came across a bike with Sachs Huret 3500 Classic parts...
I have no idea how this stuff performs?
Any ideas? Thanks

Here's some info about Sachs-Huret: ... leurs.html and I remember the 5 speed "racer" that I had when I was about 10 years old had a very cheap looking, pressed steel Huret derailleur. :D

No idea how 3500 Classic stuff performs, but when I first got into cycling as a sport in the mid 80s everyone was using SunTour, Shimano and, if you could afford it, Campagnolo.

I think that during the early 80's Sachs-Huret got a bit of a bad rap. Mainly because nearly every cheap racer was fitted with the ubiquitous ECO mech, which was fine for what it was but hardly exotic. I personally remember being quite shocked when I first ran across the absolutely beautiful Huret Jubilee mech because the ECO was all I knew

As for the 3500 series I seem to remember it as being a quite utilitarian but solid performing series comparable with say DX quality rather than XT.
