No idea, but does the bb you are using have some form of collar on the axle? Sure I've read somewhere that these can be an issue for non-shimano cranks.

Which model Middleburn is it ? RS2, 3 ?
While 113 is the modern standard for them, 110/107 would be fine as it just shifts to the older chainline setup.
RS3 used 107/113 iirc
and RS2 (flat spider, straight arms) used the 122.5 iirc.
If they are RS2, you'd be hitting the arms at the moment.

Someone should be able to confirm that hopefully.

Fluffy is right. 122 for RS 2's with straight crank arms
107 but 110 works for Rs3's they are low profile - ie curve back almost over the top of the outer chain ring.

My RS3 run happily on a 68/113 UN90

The RS1 & 2 were much flatter, stands to reason the bb would need to be longer...

Incidentally I have a compact spider but also a non compact from a set of L&M's with the same orientation/ bolt pattern - think I could swap them over easily?

Cheers lads, I think you've answered this.

An bb longer by 12mm will cover the difference happily.
