Pretty sure they are regular bearing sizes - front 3/16" & rear 1/4"

Yep. 10 each side for the front hub, 9 each side for the rear.

Any good engineers supplier should have them for a few pence each. Failing that there's always ebay.

Go for a bearing supplier. Most of the ebay ones are rubbish, not made to true bearing tolerances. I bought 100 1/4" for £5 from my local bearing guy.
