...just seen these sits between retro and modern...tan wall...*check*...wierwolf/aggro style tread pattern...*check*...for 29" wheels...huh!? Might have to get me some of these!!

Hahaha well yeah I know they are "non retro", but having just bought a 29er and still loving the retro look, these would help ease my guilt for buying "modern"!

Explain the words retro and 29er in the same sentence...not possible. Maybe tan or amber skinwall 29er tire would have been a better choice of words???

Entirely possible - because "retro" means reviving or influenced by styles of the past - so these are 29er tyres designed in a way that is influenced by a past look or fashion.
Retro doesn't mean old or vintage (except around here, apparently).
