Modern chainset on a 97 Zaskar

Hi.

I'm wondering if there is anything I need to be aware of if I was to put a modern Hollowtech chainset on to my 97 Zaskar frame?

I know BITD you need to make sure you got the correct size BB, but i honestly dont know how this works these days.

any advice would be great. Thanks

I ran a hollowtech type Raceface Evolve XC(currently for sale) on my Zaskar and it worked fine. I cant remember what spacers went where now, possibly one drive side and 2 non drive side. But there was enough in the BB kit to line it all up. Was just trial and error, just need to set it to 73mm and away you go.

I only changed it as I wanted to go a bit more old school.

Hope that helps

A 97 Zaskar will have a 73mm BB shell, so just fit one of the three supplied plastic spacers on the driveside external BB cup.

Brilliant!

Thanks for the help.

Still undecided on this as i'll still be running V-brakes, no planes to move to discs.

Just weighing up the options.

I wouldn't worry about that dude. As long as the thread is clean and not knackered you will be fine.

Cool. Thanks

I know the Sealed Cartridge BB fits in cleanly and seems to sit flush against the edges of the shell.

^ yup what he says

Remember the bb spindle length is specific to the chainset ,not the frame
Get some pics up
