A slightly obscure question I know but here goes
I have a 96 boulder starship which I need to get up to speed, It currently runs a non compact middleburn chainset with a narrow 110mm bracket, the middle ring practically touches the chainstay....no good. tried the next size B/B increasing the length by 3mm now the front mech has insufficient throw to engage the big ring. Has anybody had any success running non compact rings with one of these and if so what c/set combi are you using? I should imagine I will have to go compact to get it right.
