So what's the score with these? A friend who has recently joined is really into them and want's one.
What years were they made? What's the specs? Are they any good?
Pre and post trek? Unloved? Which model should we be looking for?
Doesn't seem to be the information kicking around on these like there is with the Attitudes and Adroits.

Carl.

Good starting point would be here :) some very nice bikes, and potentially a lot of good gen to be sourced.

It may take some time to download all of these but here in the RB archive exists Klein catalogs from the era of the Mantra

BTW I owned one for a short while, if I recall correctly it was a '98 Race, seemed nice enough but didn't really inspire me.

I love them, but I think they're probably more of a style statement than brilliantly functional.

You are right gtRTSdh
That's it, you aptly summarized what is a Mantra
With a rear shox directly installed under and in the direction of the seat post, it works a little bit like a rodeo horse.
But this is also for this reason that Mantra is very funny.
The geometry concept seems to come from a 10 years old kid playing at MECANO.
If you buy a Mantra, it's like to buy a beautiful toy to play with. Customizations are unlimited and you will have always some people around to ask to you : what is this bike ?
Prices are not expensive, and it is easy to find one.

I love them and apparently they work quite well if modded with newer parts.

This site has a lot on them but its down ATM.
