New to mountain bikes

I'm new to mountain bikes (road bike lad) but I have bought a Dawes Ranger for 150 in extremely good original condition. I only plan on taking it on coastal paths and bridleways.

Are they any good?

I love the old Dawes Ranger as do plenty of others on here. Should be just fine for what you want it for and if it's in as good a condition as you say then not a bad price either IMHO

Well deposit down yesterday. I'll complete the transaction at the end of the month.

I just needed something to ride with the family on.

Here is a pic, but it comes with the original seatpost as well.

I ended up paying 160 shipped with the good tyres (150 + 10 shipping IMO).
