Got this frame thats been repainted white.
It was fitted with marin bars, seat and tyres.
Components were M650 dx.
The seat tube feels externally butted.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Looks exactly like my 1990 Marin Palisades!
Check the frame number against the Marin frame numbers thread.

Yes, it's a 1990 or older.

Number is on the BB but mine was only lightly stamped - powder coat will cover it completely.

It could be me but proportionally, it looks slightly shorter on the top tube than my 90 BV.

Agreed.

What size seatpost does it take? That'll narrow it down a bit if the frame number can't be read.

29.5 by strong japan came out of it.
Its also stamped 89. 8. which I guess could be the year and month.

Thanks for all your help so far.

91 onwards have the afterburners and stamped dropouts, that's why I said 90 or older :D

29.5 Is the classic Eldridge Grade size i believe. Although i think they shared frames with the Pine mountain.

Also "Strong Japan" seatposts were fitted to the higher end Marins of that era, the only Marins to have them fitted in 1991 were the Team and Team Titanium. So you could have a good one there.
