the drop smooth curve of the fork leg into the drop outs and the weight strongly suggest if not confirm they are triple butted p2s

the pic is of non TB so you can see the difference.

I reckon Charlieboy is correct. I have a threaded P2 from a '95 CinderCone, definately triple butted, nice curved dropout joint (like the black one above), just over 800g and also a later unthreaded P2 aparently from a '98 LavaDome with the less elegent dropout joint (like the bronze one above) and weighing about 1040g. I suspect the heavier ones are not triple butted.

I'd like to source an unthreaded triple butted P2 for my HeiHei frame, does anyone know on which bikes (if any!) these were fitted? Any clues about colour / markings / anyway to identify them?

I notice some P2s have "Kona" embossed on the dropout, others have "Spinner"...

1997 kilauea and above is your best bet, they have the curved cast drop outs above and tb/cm stamped on the steerer. most mid to high konas were coming with suss forks after this date

i have some from a 97 kilauea but had a hard job tracking them down, wanteds for ahead tb p2s go largely unanswered in the wanted section

after this the year the tb p2 could be bought after market but was heavier .

spinner made the p2 forks or at least the drop outs for kona. the standard cm/cm p2s seem to largely have the spinner drop outs

Anthony is your man to give the full low down
