I have to wonder if there was some very clever marketing going on with Marin. When I moved to Dallas in 1995 they were all over the UK, but didn't see any here and nobody seemed to be familiar with them here. Not that the bikes weren't any good, but I think there was some really good marketing that they came from 'Marin' and were named after Marin county trails, so like others I have to wonder how many Marin bikes were actually ever on US soil... Now I think about it I don't think I have ever seen a Marin bike in the flesh in the US to-date.
