Not sure which chain to run with an XT M737 groupset.

Prefer Shimano chains, so do I use HG or IG?

What's the difference between the two?

Safest option is an IG chain as they will work with either system...

sprockets are slightly thicker on IG (enough that you may get chain suck if you use a HG chain with IG sprockets).

I don't find much difference in use across the various manufacturers, but like the split link to remove a chain to clean it properly every now and again........

I always err towards KMC, their split link design is the best imo (you can buy them seperately though and add them to other chains), SRAM are also good I find.
I haven't bought an original Shimano chain for some time now....
