Hello again Retrowers. Im back to pick your brains. Looking for British made parts. A 1" headset, threadless and 26" rims. Where there ever any produced?

you'll be lucky! you might find something from Hope for a headset but little else.

As LGF says ; you will struggle to find much ; although X-Lite did make those Phatso rims ; bit chunky for XC though I imagine.

XLite! All these years and I never knew they were British! Are they the only rims they made? Im am trying to keep the weight right down. Probably go with Shimano for the headset. Seen a ice grey pro headset. Should match the Pro Class crown too.

1" headsets - nothing has ever been made in the UK. Closest you will get is European - so Mavic, Stronglight, Primax, Rond, Campag etc... Hope is the only UK headset and it's not really retro.

Rims. Nothing's MADE in the UK but Halo. If it doesn't have to be retro.

Cool. Yea am not going for a 100% retro. British and weight. Oh and looks. Al probably get some stick but hey. I carnt wait till its done.

There were some Orange branded FIR rims made in the mid 90's. R1's?
