Another Klein Pulse (...trek) query.

Hi,

Mrs s_m is getting a retro bike and this time it's a Klein Pulse. It came without brake studs, Jon off of Kleinspainted sent me some and offered if they didn't fit to return them.

They go in two turns and then bind up a bit.

Everything points to these being the correct studs,

Has anyone got a Pulse who could confirm these to be correct before I apply some torque?

Cheers

Might be a silly question but have you checked threads are clean and don't have old loctite or other cr*p in them?

Sounds like they may be cross threading?

I would have thought a 98 would have standard bosses.

Has it been refinished?

I am going to take the Maguras off mine so I can check when I do, probably at the weekend. I could easily send them to you to try if it comes to it. Think it is a 97.

:)

I bet it doesn't use the old 5/16-18, but rather an M8 or M10 boss. Those are available in most shops today.

I just realised that my Fatty R forks looked to have the right size studs and hurrah they do. No just to work out what they are (I think M:cool:.

Cheers
