I can take the abuse no longer of attending the National Meet rides on modern bikes.

I have rectified this by purchasing (alcohol+eBay) a Specialized Stumpjumper M2 frame.

I thought it was a 96 but it looks to be a 99  Well it will be more retro than several of my bikes

The M2 Stumpies look* to be relatively unchanged from around 1996 to 2000.

during this period they seem to have used a mix of rigid/Manitou and RS forks.

Should I be okay with a Z2 for, say 65mm travel?

Looking forward to building the bike as this will be my first aluminium HT owned :xmas-cool:

*to the untrained eye.

And a fixed seat post, small wheels and more manly gearing!......sure your gonna be ok?....

Now you put it like that you have me worried.

I'm sure I will make excellent use of the 48T XTR Outer ring and 11-28T block.

As for the dropper post it will fit this bike too but I will run a conventional post .... just for you ;)

The small wheels thing will be a bug bear though

Stoopid retro nonsense .....

Reckon the Z2s should be OK Mark. I'm running Judy T2s on my '96... A-C measurement is around 430mm and bike feels absolutely spot on.
