Hi Guys,
Trying to help my housemate sort out his touring bike and I've managed to brake his right XTR caliper (over tensioned the crew and snapped off the inner thread).
There seemed to be no way with the above combination to get enough spring tension in the central hole on the brake mount. Using the uppermost hole meant it was impossible to get a workable angle on the pads.
Is this combination impossible, or am I being an idiot?
Going to have to find him some new brakes... Are XT any different?
Help would be much appreciated.
ps. If anyone wants to sell a suitable brake, I'm all ears...
