Did the original M950 front mech come in a top pull and a bottom pull version? Or, similar to the modern mechs, does it fit both setups?

I've checked the archive, but couldn't finds any resolution here...

I could have answered this myself.

Here I have two FD-M950 front mechs, pictured from above. The left one is bottom pull, the right one is top pull.

None of them I can use... :?

I need a top pull, 28.6 version.

Now I have a top pull version, but it's too wide. And I have a narrow one, but it's down pull...

Is there a circlip on them holding the 'pull direction' bit on, if so flick them off and switch them over.

I know some do, but don't have an M950 to look at.

Yeah, I might give that a try. Either it works but more likely I mess up two good front mechs :)
