Hi guys, I wanted some suggestions.

As some may have noticed I've been overhauling the Dynatech MT4
Added some choice bits lately.

The current rims are 231 CD with XT M730 hubs - bought a NOS rear hub too and cassette, but Shimano is a bit, well, usual

so me being me
just spunked some of money on a set of Phil Wood 32h hubs :? (130mm rear 100mm front)

So now need some rims to go with them.
was looking for something akin to the 231 CD Rims (which I Love) - as nice, ceramic or black/silver - but I'd consider anything except anodized loud colours.

Any suggestions as to beautiful rims to suit the Phil Wood polished hubs

In tune with the spirit of the Bike - preferably 1990 - 1995 in terms of age.

(anyone have any lying around?)

(I would like the 231 CD and XT hubs as backup, wont be unlacing them - so new old stock rims is what I was looking for.)

Secondly, the Rear Phil hub is a Freewheel hub - which means my lightweight cassette will be wasted.
So any suggestions for a very high quality and lightweight (if at all possible) 7 speed freewheel - to be compatible with XT M735 Rear Mech and XT Thumbies?

Thanks again!

Ooh nice. I recommend either salsa forget what they are called with the machined sidewalls (modernish) or bontrager bcx are my personal favourite of the era

For the silver on silver effect

Thanks man
I will look out for those
The bontrager are very rare
There's a salsa on eBay

Ibbz - Your 231CD/XT hubs are already the perfect wheels for this bike.

It ain't broken to fix!

I know :) am keeping them.
But want to build up a pair of phil hubbed wheels to see how they fare - I can always change the wheels back I suppose

Would campagnolo atek be good choice ?

Re: suggestions for Rims to match Phil hubs + 7 speed freewh

I would go for some highly polished Campag rims: Mirox or (if you want something a bit more unusual) then Stheno.
