My f-in-l has just retired and decided he wants a bike.
He set a max budget of £150 and was going to go off to Halfords for a BSO made out of lead.
Managed to persuade him otherwise and won him a nice 94ish STX Clockwork on ebay - that's me, him and the missus on Oranges now!

He'll no doubt moan about it being old, but at least I know he's got a better steed than he would have ended up with had he been left to his own devices!

He will never know how close he was to spending the worst ever £150 of his life :D

Shame he cant ride his Orange for a few months then test ride a BSO and see the difference :D

I was given 3 BSO of varying degrees in the quality spectrum, took them around the block and could not believe the quality of them - they were shocking

They were pretty new, i stripped them down and the only parts worth keeping were the tyres (only Kenda but good for the kids bikes :D ) and the innertubes, the rest was binned :!:
