So finally getting around to putting together a Dakar frame I bought from here a year or so ago
I've mislaid the seat post, and none of the posts I have as spare fit. It looks like its 26.6, can anyone confirm this before I start looking for one? Frame is 1998 or thereabouts, tange prestige tubing.
And if anyone has a post spare, I'm in the market....
Thanks!

BikePedia says 26.8.

That is a weighty beast!

Doh! That'll teach me to post with a hangover... It's a Dragon, not a Dakar... Definitely smaller than 26.8...

27mm

My current Dragon is 27.2mm, a 2004.

I remember something along the lines of 26.8mm was in my last one, which was a 1995.

I guess they switched tubing at some point that year, what does it say on the decals?

It's earlier than the '98 model shown- it's a 1" headset, and it's polished- nickel plated. Could be either '96, '95 or '94 from the info on BikePedia (good source by the way). I'm not that bothered about its actual age, it's been built up as a 6 speed  with nickel plated Pace RC30s and a mix of Campag and Xt/XTR cannibalised from other bikes. Looks fine, rides great as a town bike- will post a pic at some point. Thanks for all your help!
