Dented steel - how bad?

Just picked this up, knew about the dent but not how
bad (or not). Took me a while to find it!

This is a 1987 Raleigh Avanti with Reynolds 531ATB frame, I'd be interested to know whether I should worry about this dent and if so why?

Advice gratefully received :)

Even if it was Tange Ultimate you'd have little cause to worry; lugged 531 - fill it, paint it, forget about it.

Thanks guys, that's what I thought when I saw it - what possible trouble could that cause?

Normally I wouldnt touch a dented frame. I guess that's why I was after some reassurance or alternatively some cautionary advice. But I had a reason for taking a risk on this and it seems perfectly sound and looks fine - you'd be pushed to spot the slight ripple in the tube.

You might well be able to roll some of that out, but even if you can't I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks, what does that mean? Not being particularly skilled or well-equipped I'll probably leave as is but just out of interest...?
