can anyone help? thorn xtc

hiya i recently acquired a thorn xtc frame and i know nothing about them at all. it seems a lovely frame 725 reynolds tubing etc and weighs the equivilent of a small cashew nut. just wondered if any good? what should i do regarding a rebuild? what should it look like etc. thanks

Not really an MTB, but a pretty usefull frame. The forks will be the limiting factor in terms of offroad use as will the rear tyre clearance. I used to work @ Thorn cycles as a salesman & mechanic.

Drop, straight or riser bars were specced, standard kit was SKS mudguards, LX hubs with Sun rims, panaracer high road 1.5 tyres, 3T bars, 27.2 seatpin w/rolls saddle.
 
Mine has drop bars, sun CR18 rims, SKS mudguards, 9 speed Shimano road set.

However straight bars + MTB, and bar end shifter builds are also very common.

A super comfy frame for all day riding. That frame was way too small for me, alas as it's lovely.
