That sound of rapidly escaping air at about the furthest distance from the car (& any spares).

Lovely ride upto that point. 4 mile walk after.

that looks like a post mortem!...... .......i still use the red dust caps to this day, but all my air b tubes have gone to the big latex man in the sky!!.....

I remember getting some of those many moons ago. The mags were running the add stretching one over the jagged broken glass, figured cool. For some reason my lbs had a pair, on sale as no-one wanted them, still stupid expensive.
Put them in went out to practice local DH track, just a rocky fire road back in 93, full rigid. half way down first run, double flat. Not happy

Yep, that's a puncture alright

No spare tube? I always take 1 or 2, but as mentioned already you can stuff leaves/foliage/bracken etc into the tyre to make a repair that should get you home. Or just wheelie all the way back ;)

Ah memories of the Malverns in '92.
Take a load of drunken teenagers, One Air-B tube, a track pump and voila an 8ft diameter pink doughnut being bounced around the field.
Was amazing how much they kept on expanding
