Retro Newbie
Hi, I need a v-brake adapter cable housing stop for the seat tube on my 1992 kona explosif.
Can anybody help please?

Thanks Old School Grand Master,
Was thinking there may be a manufactured attachment to do this.
But will resort to your suggestion, maybe with cable ties.
Just picked up the frme, been hanging around for years in a barn.
Will swop some 9 speed XT over from a Bear Valley,

There are manufactured clamp-on stops but they're made for round tubes, so you would have to do some serious fettling to make them fit your ovalised top tube.

Do you have the 'dog collar' cable guide? I'm not sure how suitable the 1992 version of the dog collar is for doubling up as a cable stop, but the later ones were quite suitable for this (and the bigger the size of the frame the better they worked).

That's what I did on my 1995 Kilauea - I drilled the cable guide out to accept a stepped ferrule and then used a short length of cable between that and the V brake guide tube, which I bent slightly to get a better cable run.
It all works fine.
