loving this at the moment although it's a little weird to ride as the handlebars are a good 2" above the Al Mega's!

Those forks are unusual, what are they, how are they sprung, are they any good?

I thought this was Retrobike....what's with all this new fangled stuff....?

Check out the angles on my 87/88 Palisades Trail....make for a very comfy ride (and yes, it is the right size for me!)

I say 87/88 as it has the 87 Palisades colour way (I believe the 88 was red as I've seen a couple of those) but has the 88 year chainstay U-Brake but I haven't been able to find any more info. Completely original except for the rear tyre. Just needs a clean, lube and a bit of fettling and it'll be my "going to the shops" bike.

Some nice bikes in this thread. 8)
Marin is one of those brands that I never paid a lot of attention to BITD for some unknown reason. :? Always quite liked the grey (zolatone?) ones with the neon forks/stem/bars combo. Still kinda do.
What years were these ones out and what was the hierarchy?

Here's an 1990 Eldridge I picked up ages ago but then sold to Mikee, Beavis on his 1989 Palisades and his superb original 1991 Pine Mountain.

This is everything that was great about the early ninties bikes . . . that semi gloss paint is awesome. . . .one day I will own one. Lovely bike.

1990 was light grey, 1991 dark grey. 1992 was not zolatone but had neon paint at the front + back. The models were something like:

Muirwoods.
Palisades.
Bear Valley.
Eldridge.
Pine Mountain.
Team Marin.

The Team Ti + alu Indian Fire Trail turned up around this time too. Check out the archive as there's the 1991 mag in there.
