it's a 1999 hei hei as he said he's had the paint from the front removed, I've a 1997/98 one and it doesn't have the insert in the seat tube.

the price of these old Konas is nuts :shock:
Just cos they are meant to ride well?

Hey, hang on - tinbreds ride great!! Not available so rare. Irreplaceable even. The first of a new wave of good riding ti hardtails.

I've seen ti rides from more 'boutique' brands (litespeed and merlin for instance) go for less. I know which I'd rather be riding :wink:

I think? I know what you mean John, I've got a Kona KK and a Merlin Mountain and I love 'em both.... but I do ride the Merlin more often.

Mind you, I have to agree with Jez (if he is being serious for once), Kona got it right with the geometry first go.
