i have a pair of retro m525 spd`s , and was wondering if my new / modern m520 / cleats will work in them
dont wanna clip in and ride around till i fall off cos i cant get out :lol:

I think they are ok - I run modern cleats and they fit all the range of spds I have ok no probs. Count: 525 (dx) spd, xt spds, ritchey spds, and three sets of modern ones - and use the same shoes.

i run modern cleats on 737 and 747 .

All Shimano pedals have interchangeable cleats.... apart from the little used and horrendous PD-M536 and the PD-M858, both designed to shed mud like Time, but failed in every respect! one of the few Shimano total b***s ups of the 90's

theres a page on sheldon browne website (do a search!) mentioning all pedal & cleat compatibility.
